Hi, I’m Tamra;
Clinical Nutritionist and founder of Nutrition Rebalanced.
I’m also a mum to four children aged 11, 8, 5 and 3, two boys and two girls and wife to my husband Sam. Family life is busy, full, and constantly evolving, and it has shaped not only who I am, but how I practice.
My interest in nutrition started early. I began training at the gym at just 14 years old and quickly became fascinated by how movement, food and lifestyle influence the body. That curiosity stayed with me through my teenage years and into adulthood, eventually leading me to complete my Certificate III and IV in Fitness in 2005. I worked as a personal trainer for several years, supporting people with strength, movement and confidence, but I always felt there was more beneath the surface, particularly when it came to health outcomes.
HEALTH SCIENCE JOURNEY
At 25, I returned to university as a mature-age student and completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Health Promotion at Flinders University, majoring in nutrition. I studied while working full-time in hospitality and raising two young children, graduating in 2018. While that degree gave me a solid foundation, I knew it didn’t provide the depth of clinical skills or nutritional science I wanted to truly support people’s health.
That realisation led me to enrol in a Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Nutrition). I completed this degree over five years, during which time I welcomed two more children into our family. Studying through pregnancy, newborn stages and busy family life wasn’t easy, but it reinforced something I strongly believe in, that health needs to be practical, sustainable and adaptable to real life.
Empower your health
My clinical interests have naturally gravitated toward women’s health, particularly perimenopause and the significant physiological changes that occur during midlife. I’ve undertaken extensive additional training and research in this area because I see firsthand how often women feel dismissed, confused, or unprepared for what their bodies are going through. Hormonal shifts don’t happen overnight, and yet many women only start addressing their health once symptoms become overwhelming.
I believe we need to be far more proactive. My goal is to educate young women and women of all ages to start putting supportive practices in place earlier; not from a place of fear, but from empowerment. Longevity, resilience and quality of life are built over time, not retrofitted later.
Alongside women’s health, I have a strong interest in gut health, which I view as foundational to disease prevention and overall well-being. Digestion, absorption, inflammation, immune health and hormone metabolism all begin in the gut, and when it’s compromised, symptoms often appear far beyond the digestive system. Supporting gut health is one of the most effective ways to support long-term health across all populations.
While women’s health is a key focus of my work, I support adults of all genders and backgrounds. My approach is evidence-based, holistic and grounded in education, helping clients understand their bodies, make informed decisions, and build habits that support health across every stage of life.
At the heart of Nutrition Rebalanced is the belief that health should support your life, not compete with it.
